Middle School Student Struck Crossing Hartland Road

A Hartland Middle School student was struck by a car while attempting to cross the road in front of the school.

Correspondence to middle and high school students that was sent out by Hartland Community Schools officials states that on Monday afternoon there was an “unfortunate accident” in which a middle school student was struck by an adult driver while crossing Hartland Road in front of the middle school.
The student reportedly was hurled into a ditch by the force of the impact, leaving their shoes in the roadway.

The notice says that Hartland staff and emergency personnel arrived quickly on scene to assist the student, and asks that the community keep the student and their family in their thoughts. District officials further ask that parents and caregivers remind children of the danger of crossing the busy road in the morning and afternoon if the student is choosing to park at Spranger Field or are walking to the Teen Center.
